Cross Axle Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in durable consumer technology and applied AI. We manage approximately $480 million across two funds. We lead and we co-lead Series A rounds, and we typically hold positions for at least eight years.
A new generation of consumer technology is being built on top of foundation models. The companies that will matter in twenty years will be the ones that treat the customer relationship as the product, and the model as the substrate.
We invest at the earliest stages — typically the first institutional round — and we look for founders who are designing for retention curves rather than acquisition curves. We do not chase year-over-year revenue multiples; we look for businesses where the unit-economic case strengthens the longer a customer remains.
We are happy to be the first call and the only call. We prefer to lead, and we will write the first check.
Our standard documents are calibrated to keep founders in control of board composition, follow-on financing, and product direction for as long as the company is performing against its own plan.
We underwrite to retention curves, not acquisition cohorts. We are most interested in products customers expect to use for years, not sessions.
We have not sold a position in our first fund. Our LPs are aligned to a holding period longer than the typical venture cycle, and that latitude is passed through to our companies.
A selection of currently held investments. We do not maintain a comprehensive public portfolio list.
